Why should I stretch?
“Stretching is useful for both injury prevention and injury treatment. If done properly, stretching increases flexibility and this directly translates into reduced risk of injury. The reason is that a muscle/tendon group with a greater range of motion passively, will be less likely to experience tears when used actively. Stretching also is thought to improve recovery and may enhance athletic performance. The latter has not been fully agreed upon in the medical literature, but improved biomechanical efficiency has been suggested as an explanation. Additionally, increased flexibility of the neck, shoulders, and upper back may improve respiratory function.”
I was so glad to join the Chinese stretch class. Oh yeah, the timing was perfect, after my class, I had enough time to get ready and then go to have lunch. I ordered first and a few minutes after that, my husband, the birthday boy arrived. The lunch was good and I had to forget about the calories, I considered it as a treat for myself too after a week of daily exercises (well, almost daily!).
The weather was not so good today, it was very windy and full of dusts flying around. Alhamdulillah I stayed indoor so I wasn’t much affected by the bad weather.
I can’t believe that the holidays are almost over. I had to admit that I didn’t manage to reach my studying target… but looking on the bright side of it, Alhamdulillah I read quite a lot of topics. It was better than my last Raya Haji holidays where I only read one chapter! Haha… this time it’s better. I should just be grateful for what I had done rather than whine about the things I didn’t get to do. I had a great time going to group classes at the gym, hung out with friends (actually, just a friend, Husna), watched movies, spent time with my husband and of course, got my house in order. My laundry basket is empty! Great job, huh?
Well, bronchial asthma and bronchogenic carcinoma are “waiting” for me, hehe… then I will do the cases given by Dr Sherif Hawary. Can you believe how spoon fed we are by the doctor? He even set the timetable of what to study for each day during the holidays!!! There’s no excuse of not succeeding, right?
* I planned to put up pictures with this entry, and I promise, I'll come round to it soon, but certainly not now.
