First visit at the General Surgery OT

I woke up with muscle cramps this morning. Around my calf. I thought
of two things:
1. Sciatica
2. Cramps from the cardio interval workout that I did before sleeping.

I asked my husband about the symptoms of sciatica, and he said that it'd be more severe than what I am feeling. That's a relief.

Anyway, I studied before going to the OT so that I can understand better when I see the procedures. I was hoping to see a hernial repair operation or a laparoscopic cholecystectomy... But didn't get the chance. However it was a beneficial trip to the OT! I got to see a synthetic AV fistula graft, undescended testis and a simple ganglion. I just found out that if we're skilled enough we can scrub in and assist the operation. Now... I have to find a way to the chance to scrub in. Dr Aiman, the resident was really nice and explained to us what he was doing.

After that. I went to Dr Sherif el Hawary's class only to find that the class is cancelled!!' but no worries because I have a list of surgery topics to read!

Sent from my iPhone and loving it!
